PROJECT THREE: SILHOUETTE HOLLOW RING





Brief Statement of Topic: 
Make a hollow constructed ring using silhouettes
o      How can a silhouette be iconic
o      How does a shape change when you wear it
o      Historically, how were silhouettes used?
o      How can the hole for you finger be incorporated with your shape?

Aims & Objectives: (including skills to be covered)
      Challenge your abilities and design concepts relating to the relationship of your five senses to a container form
      Research historical and contemporary reliquaries
      Employ traditional layout and templates for construction
      Techniques: All techniques covered in this course are fair game and should be considered and utilized!

Tools and Materials:  Copper or silver

Model making:  drawings and models should be made to size in order to translate shapes accurately.
 
Design Research: Look at signage, logos, old tracings, 2D representations of 3D.  How does it translate?
